NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Deonte Alexander led four Lipscomb players in double figures in a 73-55 victory over Maryville (Mo.) Monday night.
Lipscomb (1-1) dominated the first half against the NAIA Division II Saints, leading 43-24 at halftime. The Bisons, up 17-13 midway through the half, went on a 9-0 run. Stephen Hurt scored seven straight points during the spurt to make it 26-13.
Lipscomb later expanded its lead from 31-21 to 42-21. Alexander hit two jumpers in that stretch, one a 3-pointer.
The Bisons outrebounded Maryville 38-16, pulling down 12 on the offensive glass. Guard Khion Stankey was scoreless but took 12 boards.
