The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s National Chamber Foundation and the American Legion will host “Hiring Our Heroes — Portland,” a hiring fair for veterans and military spouses, today at Portland’s Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

More than 120 national and local employers are expected to participate and provide information about jobs available for veterans and military spouses of all ranks and levels of experience. The event is also part of “Hiring 500,000 Heroes,” a national campaign of the U.S. Chamber, National Chamber Foundation and Capital One aimed at getting businesses to commit to hiring 500,000 veterans and military spouses by the end of 2014.

The jobs fair is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1401 N. Wheeler, Portland. Job seekers should register for free at Hiring Our Heroes. Walk-in job seekers are allowed, and veterans must provide military ID.
