Esther Short — The work of eight young photographers will be on display throughout November in Gallery 360's Favorite Places in Clark County exhibit. Nearly 50 photos were entered in the contest. Their subjects ranged from county parks to unique decorations downtown. The photo contest aims to give young people a chance to document their favorite county locations, said Jose Alvarez, a county planner. The Clark County Community Planning department and county Youth Commission sponsored the competition. From a community planning perspective, Alvarez said knowing what places young residents value helps guide the region's future. County commissioners are expected to honor the shutterbugs at their Dec. 4 meeting. The photos will then be displayed on the sixth floor of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St. Gallery 360 is at 111 W. Ninth St.
