Dunbar leads Navy past Binghamton 75-52

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Tilman Dunbar finished with 16 points, 11 rebounds and two steals to lead Navy past Binghamton 75-52 Wednesday night in a nonconference game.

Worth Smith added 13 points and Thurgood Wynn chipped in with 11 points and nine rebounds for Navy (2-1).

Binghamton (0-3) jumped out to an early 12-7 lead, but the Midshipmen used a 30-14 run to take a 37-26 lead into halftime.

After Jordan Reed hit two free throws with 10:47 left to play to cut Binghamton’s deficit to five, 50-45, Navy scored 15 unanswered to break the game open. The Midshipmen closed the game on a 25-7 run.

Navy shot 44.4 percent (25 of 54) for the game compared to just 32.7 percent (16 of 49) for Binghamton.

Besides outshooting the Bearcats, Navy also outscored them in the paint, 34-20.

The Midshipmen scored 25 points off of 18 Bearcat turnovers.
