Administrators for the Evergreen School District’s new Henrietta Lacks Health and Bioscience High School (HeLa High) will host an open house for students and parents at 6 p.m. Thursday in the auditorium at Wy’east Middle School, 1112 S.E. 136th Ave.

HeLa High School, scheduled to open in fall 2013, is working with PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center and other health care institutions to provide students with opportunities for hands-on educational experiences.

This will be an opportunity to ask questions and to learn more. Current eighth and ninth grade students in the Evergreen School District can apply to attend. The application deadline is Dec. 18. For information or to apply, visit Henrietta Lacks Health and Bioscience High School.
