MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — The 2013 AMA Motocross season will feature two new venues.

The season kicks off on May 18 with its usual opener at the Hangtown Classic outside of Sacramento, Calif., and wraps up on Aug. 24 at Lake Elsinore in Southern California.

Added to the schedule this season will be the Bristol National at Muddy Creek Raceway, just a few miles from Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee. The second new venue, for a race scheduled on Aug. 17, will be announced later.

Ryan Dungey won his second outdoor championship last season, but should be challenged by former champion Ryan Villopoto, who’s back after suffering a left knee injury.
