Wilson’s 25 points lead Army past Binghamton 85-76

WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) — Kyle Wilson scored 25 points, including 16 in the first half, to lead Army to an 85-76 nonconference victory over Binghamton on Friday.

Wilson, a freshman, made 9 of 11 shots, including 3 of 3 on 3-pointers. Eight of his points came during an 11-1 first-half run when the Black Knights (2-1) built a 39-25 lead.

Josh Herbeck added 15 points for Army, including 5 of 7 on 3-pointers, and Ella Ellis scored 12. Army led 39-29 at halftime and never by fewer than eight points after that.

Jordan Reed scored 18 points to lead four players in double figures for the Bearcats (0-4), who lost Wednesday night at Navy. Rayner Moquete added 16 points for Binghamton, and Taylor Johnston and Jimmy Gray scored 12 points each.

Both teams shot better than 50 percent — 51.8 percent for Army (29 of 56) and 50.9 percent for Binghamton (27 of 53).
