Looney, Marist blow past Campbell 28-7

BUIES CREEK, N.C. (AP) — Chuckie Looney threw three touchdowns and Marist racked up 569 yards of total offense in the Red Foxes’ 28-7 win over Campbell on Saturday in a Pioneer Football League matchup.

Looney completed 15 of 21 passes for 222 yards and threw touchdown passes of 57, 14, and 11 yards. His third touchdown, an 11-yarder to Mike Rios, gave Marist a 28-7 lead with 13:27 left to play.

With the touchdown, Rios tied James LaMacchia for the Marist record for career receiving touchdowns. Rios finished with five catches for 60 yards.

Marist (4-6, 3-4) posted more rushing yards (338) then Campbell had total yards (272). Wale Onakoya led the Red Foxes rushing attack with 114 yards on 15 carries and Calvin McCoy added 97 yards on 12 carries.

Campbell (1-10, 0-8) struggled to move the ball, gaining just 3.9 yards per play and converting only 4 of 14 third-down conversions.
