Montana earns come-back victory at Idaho 66-63

MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — Spencer Coleman’s 3-point basket with 4:12 to go brought Montana all the way back from as many as 15 down to give the Grizzlies a 59-57 lead and eventually a 66-63 victory over Idaho on Saturday night.

For Montana, Kareem Jamar had 17 points and seven rebounds, Mathias Ward had 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting and Coleman had nine points and five rebounds.

Before Coleman’s big bucket, Montana’s (2-1) last lead came at the 10:57 mark in the first half when Jamar hit a jumper to make it 15-14 Grizzlies.

Up 34-30 at halftime, Idaho (0-2) went on a 16-5 run capped off by a Marcus Bell lay-up to take its biggest lead of the game at 50-35 with 12:27 remaining.

The Grizzlies stormed back, outscoring Idaho 24-7 to take the 59-57 lead off Coleman’s 3-pointer.

Stephen Madison scored 22 points and Kyle Barone added 19 in the loss for the Vandals.
