HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) — Chad White’s 3-pointer with 3 seconds remaining lifted South Dakota State to a 78-77 victory over Marshall on Saturday in a subregional game of the 2K Sports Classic.

The Jackrabbits (2-2), who had pulled within 77-75 on Brayden Carlson’s 3-pointer, got the ball back after Chris Martin missed a free throw for the Thundering Herd (2-2) with 10 seconds left.

Marshall had taken a 77-72 lead on Robert Goff’s layup and a 3-pointer by D.D. Scarver after the game had been tied for the 10th time.

Carlson scored 23 points and Nate Wolters 22 to lead the Jackrabbits, who turned the ball over just four times. Wolters also handed out 10 assists. White finished with 10 points.

DeAndre Kane’s 19 points led four Marshall scorers in double figures. Elijah Pittman had 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Scarver and Dennis Tinnon scored 10 points each.
