Western Michigan beats Md-Eastern Shore 68-51

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Brandon Pokley scored 14 points as Western Michigan beat Maryland-Eastern Shore 68-51 on Saturday.

Shayne Whittington and Darius Paul added 13 points each for Western Michigan (3-1).

Maryland-Eastern Shore (0-5) got 12 points from Troy Snyder.

Nate Hutcheson, who had a career-high 30 points in Western Michigan’s 81-71 win over Loyola of Chicago on Friday night, scored 10.

Hutcheson had eight points to help the Broncos take a 30-23 halftime advantage.

Paul made a jumper and Hutcheson had fast-break basket to put Western Michigan ahead 43-33 with 11:00 to play.

Whittington’s 3-point play extended the Western Michigan advantage to 48-37 at the 12-minute mark.
