Foster scores 28, Fresno State tops Cal Poly 76-67

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) — Kevin Foster had 28 points and nine rebounds as Fresno State beat its third Big West Conference opponent in the last six days, defeating Cal Poly 76-67 Monday night.

Kevin Olekaibe added 20 points and Allen Huddleston had 14 for the Bulldogs (3-1), who also have victories over Pacific and UC Riverside.

Cal Poly (1-2) got 14 points from Chris Eversley, 12 from Dylan Royer and 10 from Jamal Johnson.

Fresno State shot 55 percent from the floor, hit 9 of 18 3-pointers and was 15 for 18 from the free-throw line while outrebounding the Mustangs 31-22.

The Bulldogs used a 13-2 run — getting seven points from Foster and six from Olekaibe — en route to a 37-30 halftime lead. Cal Poly got within 48-44 with 12:12 remaining, but Olekaibe’s 3-pointer with 9:56 left pushed the lead back to double digits.
