Braun, North Dakota State top James Madison 66-44

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Taylor Braun scored 19 points and TrayVonn Wright added 12 and North Dakota State closed out the 2012 Progressive Legends Classic subregional round with a 66-44 win over James Madison on Wednesday.

Braun, who was 6 of 10 from the field, knocked down three 3-pointers and recorded team-highs in rebounds (seven) and assists (six).

North Dakota State (5-1) opened the game on a 7-2 run but saw the Dukes rally and take a 20-19 lead with 6:16 left in the half.

But James Madison (1-3) converted just one field goal over the final six minutes and Braun scored eight of North Dakota State’s final 10 points of the half as the Bison entered intermission with a 34-24 advantage.

North Dakota State, which shot 55 percent (11 of 20) in the second half, held James Madison to 15-of-46 shooting for the game.

Andre Nation led James Madison with 10 points.
