ATLANTA (AP) — Manny Atkins scored 26 points and R.J. Hunter 25 — both career highs — as Georgia State defeated South Alabama 75-73 Wednesday for its third victory in three days.

The Panthers (3-2) led 74-67 with 1:30 remaining after a 3-pointer and a jumper by Atkins, but two 3-pointers by Xavier Roberson brought the Jaguars (2-3) within a point, 74-73, with 35 seconds left.

Atkins scored 19 points in the first half, when Georgia State took a 43-35 lead. Hunter, a freshman, scored 14 in the final 13 minutes.

The Panthers made 11 of 18 3-pointers, including 5 of 6 by Atkins.
