Letter: Results of ‘mandate’ are disturbing

The Columbian
Published: November 20, 2012, 4:00pm

It’s sure lucky for us all that President Obama received a “mandate” from the public on Nov. 6. Two stories in the Nov. 14 Columbian to reinforce that “mandate” hit home. U.S. deficit was $120 billion in October, setting us on the path for a fifth straight $1 trillion-plus annual deficit. Then to top that was the resignation and scandal involving the head of the CIA, Gen. David Petraeus. Seems curious on the general’s resignation timing … less than a week after the election. But, I’m sure the administration didn’t know anything about this before the election? Of course, the media probably knew about this pending resignation before the election but couldn’t/wouldn’t say anything until their guy was elected.

Sure glad those nasty old Republicans didn’t win.
