Letter: Stay home and enjoy your blessings

Decades ago the people of our nation concluded that it would be a great idea to set aside one day a year to give thanks to God for the blessings He has bestowed upon us. At that time we set aside the fourth Thursday in November as a national day of thanks. Generations ago the people also set aside Dec. 25 as a day to celebrate the birth of Christ.

Today, according to the U.S. Supreme Court, we have a new type of person. They, despite the fact that the Bible states “God created man in his own image,” have determined that corporations are people. These new people are devoid of heart and soul. They have decided to open their corporate stores on our national day of Thanksgiving so that people can buy Christmas presents. Seems like they are hitting God with a double whammy.

Send a message to these Scrooges — stay home and give thanks. The workers of these corporate sweatshops deserve the right to do the same. Through your elected representatives let the Supreme Court know that you do not believe corporations are people.
