FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) — Sherwood Brown scored 22 points and Florida Gulf Coast rallied, then held on to beat Toledo 72-66 Thursday in the title game of the Atlantis on the mainland tournament.

The Eagles (4-2) were behind 37-27 at halftime but shot 60 percent after the break — and finished at 50 percent overall. The final score was Florida Gulf Coast’s largest lead of the game.

The Rockets (1-4) came within two points with 20 seconds left after three free throws by Rian Pearson, who finished with 28 points. Brown’s dunk made it 70-66 and the Eagles were in control after that.

Eric McKnight had 15 points and Chase Fieler 10 for FGCU. Bernard Thompson grabbed 11 rebounds for the Eagles. Besides Pearson, Julius Brown was the only other double-figure scorer for Toledo, with 12 points.
