ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Baylor quarterback Nick Florence has no regrets about burning his redshirt season for one half of football last year.

Florence calls the second half against Texas Tech last year one of the best memories he’ll ever have.

When the Bears and Red Raiders play again at Cowboys Stadium on Saturday, Florence will be the starter. And he’s the FBS leader in total offense after succeeding Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III.

Florence threw for 151 yards with two touchdowns and ran for another score in the second half of Baylor’s 66-42 win over Tech last season. He took over after Griffin had concussion-like symptoms.

Baylor (5-5) is trying to get bowl eligible for the third consecutive season. Texas Tech (7-4) has lost three of its last four games.
