Vandals went on a tire-slashing rampage late Wednesday and early Thursday on Nicholson Road in the Bagley Downs neighborhood, according to Vancouver police.

At least 26 tires were slashed on nine vehicles in a segment of the road between Northwest Stapleton and Falk roads, said Vancouver police Sgt. Timothy Kim.

Some vehicles had all tires slashed; others had only two damaged, Kim said.

While investigating a burglary, Vancouver police got information leading them to interview two juvenile suspects.

The names of the juveniles and their specific pending charges were not released as Vancouver police continue an ongoing investigation into a “mini crime spree” occurring within the last week. There may more juveniles involved and further charges for other crimes committed in the Vancouver and Clark County area.

“It’s more than just the tire slashings,” said Cpl. Duane Boynton with the Vancouver Police Department.

Anyone who has been a victim of tire slashing on Nicholson Road in the last couple of days and had not already filed a police report is encouraged to file one by calling 360-487-7355.
