MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) — Kevin Henderson hit his third 3-pointer of the night with 3 seconds to play, allowing Montana to escape with a 67-66 victory over San Diego on Saturday night.
Kareem Jamar set up Henderson with his 11th assist of the game for Montana (3-1). Jamar also had six rebounds.
San Diego (3-4) had a chance to pull the game out, but Chris Anderson’s 3-point attempt at the buzzer was off the mark.
Mathias Ward led Montana with 23 points, including three 3-pointers. Andy Martin had four blocked shots.
Johnny Dee scored 22 points to lead San Diego, and Anderson finished with 12 points. Anderson also had seven assists.
