A Vancouver-based bicycle advocacy group next week will trek across the Interstate 5 Bridge for a bike-only night at Portland International Raceway.

“Bike the Lights” will allow bicyclists to make their way through the annual Christmas light display on Monday, Dec. 3. The ride is part of the larger Jubitz Winter Wonderland event, which lights up more than 250 holiday displays between Thanksgiving and Christmas each year. The bike-only night is a fundraiser for Oregon’s Bicycle Transportation Alliance.

A group with Bike Clark County will meet as early as 4 p.m. at the Brickhouse restaurant, 109 W. 15th St. in Vancouver, before departing for Portland International Raceway at 6 p.m. Riders will make the 4-mile trip, regardless of rain, take one lap around the track and then return to the Brickhouse, according to Bike Clark County.

Admission for cyclists on Monday is $6 per person. Bike Clark County will give out awards for the best decorated, well-lit bicycles among its riders.

More information is available at Bike Clark County.
