Morning crashes snarl traffic on Highway 14

Two wrecks occurred about one hour apart

A pair of multiple car crashes snarled traffic on state Highway 14 Tuesday morning.

The first crash happened around 8:13 a.m. in westbound lanes near Southeast 164th Avenue, said Trooper Will Finn, spokesman for the Washington State Patrol.

No one was injured in the crash but one lane of the highway was blocked for about 20 minutes, he said. Two of the four cars were towed from the scene.

While troopers were still on scene at the first crash, another one happened farther east.

The second crash happened at 9:09 a.m. in westbound lanes east of 164th Avenue. Three cars were involved, Finn said.

One woman in her 20s was sent to a local hospital with significant but unknown injuries, said Capt. Kevin Murray with the Vancouver Fire Department. Her name was not released.

The second crash was cleared around 10 a.m., Trooper Finn said.
