OHSU to host free health fair



Oregon Health & Science University is hosting the “Health Fair on the Square” to kick off its yearlong 125th anniversary celebration.

The health fair will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9 at Pioneer Courthouse Square, 701 S.W. Sixth Ave., in downtown Portland.

The event will include interactive displays, free screenings, the Casey Eye Institute mobile eye clinic, a large inflatable walkthrough colon, Mr. Yuk (the Oregon Poison Center mascot) and the “Lets Get Healthy” interactive education and research exhibit. The health screenings include blood tests to assess lipid levels, body mass index and blood pressure testing.

The event is free. Health screenings will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
