Rotary Club awards $52,651 in community grants

Esther Short -- Sixteen groups make Clark County better were awarded a total of $52,651 in community grants by the Vancouver Rotary Foundation during the Rotary Club's luncheon on Sept. 19 at the Red Lion Hotel at the Quay in Vancouver. The grant recipients are:
• Abstinence Wait-training and Relationship Education, $2,750.
• Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington, $5,000.
• Bridge the Gap, $5,000.
• CDM Services, $1,200.
• Celebrate Life, $3,485.
• Children's Justice Center, $3,635.
• Clark County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Team, $3,119.
• Community Resource Center at Washington Elementary School, $6,000.
• Council for the Homeless' Winter Hospitality Overflow Shelter, $2,000.
• Gear Up, $2,500.
• The Giving Closet, $4,750.
• Innovative Services NW, $4,227.
• Junior Achievement, $1,395.
• National Alliance on Mental Illness Clark County, $590.
• Northwest Association for Blind Athletes, $4,500.
• Partners in Careers' Youth First Program, $2,500.
