NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Oklahoma deep snapper Austin Woods has completed his chemotherapy treatments and will find out in about three weeks whether his cancer is in remission.

Woods was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma after spring football and has been getting treatments every two weeks. He says the scans of his lymph nodes so far have been “excellent” and he’ll be in remission is his next one comes back clean.

Woods says he’s anxious to get past the energy-sapping treatments, which involve a mixture of chemicals being pumped into his body for about four hours. He says he just starts to feel back to his normal self before it’s time for another round of chemotherapy.

The No. 17 Sooners (2-1, 0-1 Big 12) play at Texas Tech (4-0, 1-0) on Saturday.
