4A GSHL football: Camas 77, Evergreen 28

John Norcross and Nathan Beasley scored three touchdowns apiece, and the Papermakers produced nine touchdowns before halftime.

Norcross opened the scoring with a 10-yard reception less than two minutes into the game. He intercepted two passes late in the second quarter, one to set up his 7-yard touchdown run and the next a 70-yard return for a score.

Beasley scored on runs of nine and 10 yards and took a short pass 35 yards for a score.

Evergreen turned over the ball five times and had a punt blocked for a Camas touchdown in the first half.

Camas needed 1:14 and seven plays to drive 65 yards to its first touchdown. Just over a minute later it was 14-0 as Nick Gabdaw blocked a punt and Macon Sumpter picked it up and ran 10 yards to the end zone.

The teams combined to throw 53 passes in a first half that ended with the Papermakers leading 63-7. Camas quarterback Reilly Hennessey was 12 of 27 for 227 yards and three touchdowns. He was intercepted twice.

Evergreen sophomore quarterback Kobey Eaton was 12 for 26 for 165 yards. He hooked up with Anthony Thomas for a 38-yard touchdown following a Camas fumble in the second quarter.

Camas outgained Evergreen 376-180 in the first half.

In the second half, Evergreen got touchdown runs of 80 yards from Justice Murphy, 56 yards from Te’Kwon Wallace and 53 yards from Mitch Carnahan.
