PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) — Dennis Jenkins ran for 154 yards and two touchdowns, helping Arkansas-Pine Bluff defeat Jackson State 34-24 on Saturday night.
Both of his touchdowns came in the first half.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff (4-2, 2-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference) led 27-24 late in the game when Benjamin Anderson connected with Aaron Lagrone on an 8-yard touchdown pass to gain some breathing room with 1:39 left.
Jackson State (2-4, 2-2) had three players rush for 100 or more yards — Tommy Gooden (104), Rakeem Sims (101) and Clayton Moore (100).
Arkansas-Pine Bluff was ahead 24-14 with 7:47 left in the third quarter when the game was delayed for 40 minutes due to lightning.
