Drake defeats San Diego 38-10

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Mike Piatkowski threw three touchdowns and ran for another as Drake defeated San Diego 38-10 on Saturday afternoon in a battle between unbeaten Pioneer Football League teams.

Piatkowski was 21 of 31 passing for 250 yards and four touchdowns, including two to Nick Rosa who finished the game with 112 yards on six catches. Kevin Marshall caught a 5-yard pass and scored his first touchdown of the season. Piatkowski also ran the ball 8 yards for a touchdown.

The Bulldogs (4-2, 3-0) also clicked on defense, forcing six turnovers. Travis Merritt, Mike Ratelle and Brad Duwe caught interceptions.

Mason Mills was 24 of 37 for 216 passing yards. San Diego (2-3, 1-1)) got on the scoreboard in the second quarter as Brandon White caught a 2-yard pass from Mills for a touchdown. Ernie Collins added a field goal in the fourth.

Along with the win, Drake celebrated homecoming.
