EASTON, Pa. (AP) — Employing a no-huddle offense, Princeton ran for 264 yards and four touchdowns in a 35-14 nonconference victory over Lafayette Saturday night.
The Tigers (2-2) took advantage of the absence of Andrew Shoop, Lafayette’s regular starting quarterback, who missed the game with a concussion. His replacement, Zach Zweizig struggled. He completed 17 of 28 passes for 194 yards and one touchdown, a 29-yarder to Mark Ross. But Zweizig also threw two interceptions.
Princeton led 29-0 after three quarters. Three of its touchdowns came in the third quarter, including runs of 23 yards by Quinn Epperly and 34 yards by Roman Wilson, and a 32-yard interception return by Phillip Bhaya.
Akil Sharp, who opened the scoring with a 10-yard run in the first quarter, tacked on a 1-yard scoring run in the fourth.
Ross Scheuerman had a 65-yard touchdown run for Lafayette (3-2), but the Leopards were outgained 262-148 on the ground.
