Jollota to be honored as 2012 First Citizen

Pat Jollota will be honored Thursday as Clark County’s 2012 First Citizen at the Hilton Vancouver Washington, 301 W. Sixth St.

A 4 p.m. reception will be followed by the award program at 5 p.m. Speakers include Mary Blanchette, executive director of the Arthur D. Curtis Children’s Justice Center.

Jollota was a founder of the center and a board member for 20 years.

Jollota also served for 20 years as a Vancouver city councilor, and has written several books about local history.

The Community Foundation for Southwest Washington announced the award, given annually to a Clark County resident who has modeled exemplary citizenship through actions and service to the community.

Admission is $35.
