DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Will Bardo threw for three touchdowns — all in the first half — to help Dayton beat Morehead State 41-27 in a Pioneer Football League showdown Saturday.

Dayton (3-4, 2-2) scored on its opening possession when Bardo found Jordan Elmore through the air for 16 yards. Bardo finished 15 of 23 for 214 yards.

After trading quick scores, Zach Lewis connected with Justin Cornwall for 45 yards late in the first quarter to give Morehead State a 13-10 lead.

Morehead State’s (1-5, 0-3) lead did not last long as Bardo dominated the second quarter. Bardo helped the Flyers take the lead for good, connecting with Nik Gillum for 16 yards and Ross Smith for 9 yards as time expired for a 23-14 first half lead.

Dayton scored 24 unanswered points to seal the victory over the Eagles.

The Flyers have beaten Morehead State the last four meetings.
