Letter: Herrera Beutler stands up for voters

The Columbian
Published: October 12, 2012, 5:00pm

Brave leaders with integrity such as Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, will stand up to Columbia River Crossing elite, and scrap the idea if the voters tell her in November that they aren’t willing to pay for it. Other local leaders believe a “no” on the sales tax still means a “yes” to light rail. They appear to know better than voters as to what Clark County citizens need or want. Herrera Beutler is absolutely correct — let the folks of Clark County decide whether or not to bring over light rail. She’s got a lot of integrity to not be intimidated by big-wigs, negative letter-writers, and the CRC machinery.
