ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson has left the Illinois game with an undisclosed injury.

Robinson ran up the middle and was tackled hard by Ashante Williams late in the first quarter. He was replaced by Russell Bellomy on a drive that stalled and ended with a field goal to put the 25th-ranked Wolverines up 10-0. Bellomy was still under center when Michigan got the ball back early in the second quarter.

On Michigan’s first drive, Robinson threw a short pass that receiver Jeremy Gallon turned into a 71-yard touchdown. That was the senior’s 48th career TD pass.

The Wolverines wanted to get running back Fitzgerald Toussaint more involved on the ground, but chose to let Robinson run on a first-and-goal from the Fighting Illini 9 when he was hurt.
