LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska coach Bo Pelini says he used last week to address his team’s turnover problem.

The Cornhuskers lead the Big Ten in rushing, scoring and total offense. But they also are 12th, and last, in turnover margin. Only 11 teams in the nation have committed more than Nebraska’s 15 turnovers.

Of the 166 points scored against the Huskers, 62 came after Nebraska had committed a turnover. That’s 37 percent.

Quarterback Taylor Martinez accounts for eight turnovers. In the 63-38 loss at Ohio State, the Buckeyes converted three Martinez turnovers into 21 points.

Martinez says without the turnovers, Nebraska could be undefeated.

The Huskers (4-2, 1-1) go into Saturday’s game at Northwestern (6-1, 2-1) in fourth place in the Big Ten’s Legends Division.
