Ravens LB Suggs won’t rule himself out for Sunday

OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) — Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs hasn’t ruled out the possibility of making his season debut Sunday against the Houston Texans.

The notion seems far-fetched, given that Suggs practiced for the first time Wednesday after undergoing surgery in May on his torn right Achilles tendon.

Suggs said Thursday, “There no plan in place. I’ve got to take it day by day. Come Sunday I may or may not be out there.”

Coach John Harbaugh was not available for comment, but he said previously the Ravens would not rush Suggs back into action.

Suggs acknowledged that a quick return could push back his recovery. He says, “We’re going to make the decision as a group.”

Suggs is the 2011 NFL defensive player of the year and a five-time Pro Bowl star.
