A man was arrested Friday after he led Vancouver police on a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle and allegedly rammed a police vehicle to avoid capture, said Vancouver police Sgt. Mike Davis.

The chase began as a reckless driving report at 7:56 p.m. on Fourth Plain Boulevard near Rossiter Lane, Davis said.

From there, police chased the man west. Near East 33rd Street and North Grand Boulevard, the man allegedly rammed a pursuing officer’s vehicle.

The officer was taken to a local hospital for evaluation of minor injuries.

Another officer later used a pursuit intervention technique near Northwest 179th Street and 41st Avenue to bring the stolen vehicle to a halt, Davis said.

The man was arrested on scene. The man’s name and exact charges were not available late Friday.
