LORETTO, Pa. (AP) — Nick Doscher threw three touchdowns to help Wagner beat St. Francis (Pa) 31-24 Saturday.
After John Kelly found A.J. Alexander for a 60-yard strike to help St. Francis (3-5, 2-3 Northeast Conference) tie the game at 7 in the second quarter, Doscher answered, connecting with David Crawford for a 28-yard touchdown and a 14-7 lead. Doscher finished 12-for-17 for 163 yards.
Late in the first half, David Lopez kicked a 34-yard field goal for Wagner (4-3, 4-1) and Josh Thiel answered with a 43-yard field goal making it 17-10 at halftime.
Doscher had a strong second half, throwing two touchdowns in the third quarter. He found Dominique Williams for a 7-yard score and connected with Darnell Sapp with 1:06 left in the third quarter for a 31-17 lead.
The Red Flash scored a late touchdown making it 31-24, but it was not enough as Kelly fumbled on their last possession.
