Letter: Probst favored as state senator

The “Good Government Leadership Council” from Centralia mailed a flier reporting Tim Probst favors “ultraliberal Obamacare plan,” “using tax dollars for political campaigns,” and “Obama’s failed stimulus.” All bad according to GGLC.

Apparently, that means only the wealthiest should have health care, and candidates should win or lose based on their money rather than qualifications.

I would also point out that the “failed” stimulus saved thousands of jobs.

Most troubling is this: The GGLC is the state Republicans’ soft-money PAC “Leadership Council” funded in part by Property Casualty Insurers of Illinois, Novartis Pharmaceutical of New Jersey and Karl Rove’s Crossroads GPS.

If ever there were a reason to vote for Probst, it is the cast of shady characters supporting his opponent.
