Vancouver police were looking Tuesday night for a white Ford Fusion, with front and rear damage, that rammed a police car and led officers on a chase.

Details were sketchy.

About 7 p.m., police were watching the Ford at Southeast 145th Avenue and Southeast 30th Street on an auto prowl call. A man got into the car and hit an unmarked police car while reversing, said Sgt. Steve Dobbs with the Vancouver Police Department.

Dobbs said the driver was running red lights as officers tried to catch up. They lost sight of the car around Southeast 164th Avenue and Southeast 29th Street.

Police patrolled areas as far east as Southeast 192nd Avenue, but did not spot the man. The car had Oregon plate WVN807. The car only has a rear plate.

Anyone who sees a car matching this description is asked to call 911.
