Shumway — YWCA Clark County’s SafeChoice Domestic Violence Shelter received a $20,000 grant from the Mary Kay Foundation for Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October. The money will be used for a family-style bedroom for a year for families escaping domestic violence. Providing this room and the services associated with it will help change the lives of at least six adults and 6 to 12 children throughout the year, according to a press release. These families will have access to parenting, peer and legal support during their stay, the YWCA said. To learn more, visit http://ywcaclarkcounty.com/help/safechoice.
