HOUSTON (AP) — Trailing by a touchdown entering the fourth quarter, Texas Southern rallied down the stretch and used a 31-yard field goal by Robert Hersh with 4:14 left to earn a 23-20 victory over Grambling State on Saturday.

Texas Southern (2-6, 2-4 Southwestern Athletic) got a 21-yard interception return for a TD by Eric Brown with 11:58 in the fourth. The PAT failed, however and the score remained 20-20 until Hersh’s kick.

Edward Perkins-Loving rushed for 128 yards for Texas Southern, and quarterback Rudolph Johnson threw for 101 yards and rushed for 59.

Grambling State (1-7, 0-6) rushed for only 30 yards in the game, but 6-foot-6 quarterback Frank Rivers had a hot passing hand, completing 19 of 33 passes for 293 yards and 3 TDs.
