A 46-year-old woman was sent to the hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries after being hit by an SUV Sunday night in Hazel Dell, officials said.

The woman, identified as Sherry Larsh, a transient, was crossing the road on foot at the 8000 block of Northeast Highway 99 around 8:30 p.m. Sunday when she was hit by a southbound Honda Pilot driven by Melanie Griffee, 19, of Vancouver, said Sgt. Fred Neiman, spokesman for the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Larsh was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. She was listed in serious but stable condition Monday night. Griffee remained on scene and is cooperating with police. It does not appear alcohol or speeding were contributing factors to the incident, Neiman said.

Clark County Fire District 6 and American Medical Response responded.

The sheriff’s traffic unit is investigating.
