CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming coach Dave Christensen says his one-week suspension for his conduct after the Air Force game was humbling and difficult.

He again apologized for his actions Monday and vowed to become a better person and football coach.

The fourth-year head coach also says he plans on being head coach at Wyoming for a long time and his goal is to build a consistent contender.

Christensen was fined $50,000 and suspended by the school over his conduct after a 28-27 loss to Air Force on Oct. 13 when he berated Falcons coach Troy Calhoun on the field.

Christensen says he has apologized directly to Calhoun. His initial apology didn’t mention Calhoun.

The episode exacerbated a dismal season for the Cowboys, who have won just one game.
