WACO, Texas (AP) — The Baylor Bears look a lot different moving forward.
After winning a school-record 30 games last season, the 19th-ranked Bears are without forwards Perry Jones III, Quincy Miller and Quincy Acy, who are all in the NBA. Jones and Miller left Baylor early.
The Bears still have senior point guard Pierre Jackson, the Big 12 preseason player of the year, among five returning guards.
Despite all the changes in the frontcourt, the Bears are still considered one of the Big 12’s top teams. They were picked second in a preseason vote by coaches behind perennial Big 12 champ Kansas.
And they do still have some quality big men. They’re just young, including starting center Isaiah Austin, a 7-foot-1 freshman who was one of the nation’s top-ranked recruits.
