ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — Washington Redskins receiver Pierre Garcon and safety Brandon Meriweather are unlikely to play again this week, postponing their return until after the bye.

Garcon did not practice Wednesday. He has missed five of the last seven games with a torn toe ligament in his right foot.

Meriweather was limited in practice with sprained ligaments in his knee and has yet to play this season. Coach Mike Shanahan said the safety is a “long shot” to play Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

The Redskins have next week off before returning to host the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 18.

Shanahan said he has yet to hear from the NFL office concerning any punishment over cornerback DeAngelo Hall’s tirade toward an official. The coach doesn’t think Hall will be suspended for Sunday’s game.
