Sunnyside — For the fourth consecutive year, Sunset Elementary School has been named an Exemplary School by the NorthWest Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports Network. The award recognizes the school’s focus on implementing schoolwide positive behavior strategies to help all students succeed. Sunset, part of Evergreen Public Schools, is one of only seven schools in Washington — and the only school in Clark County — named to the list. “At Sunset, we have the SHARK Code to guide our behavior,” said Sunset Principal Michael Martin. “That stands for Safe, Honest, Accountable, Respectful, Kind. We all follow the SHARK Code, and students know what’s expected of them.” The NWPBIS is a nonprofit organization that helps educators develop, implement, and sustain safe and effective learning environments.
