The Hawks started finishing drives in the second half and pushed aside the host Eagles.
Two defensive touchdowns also helped Hockinson get the upper hand before its offense finished things off. In the first quarter, Nick Barclay blocked a Elma field goal attempt, then grabbed the ball and ran 90 yards for a touchdown. In the third quarter, Nick Guinett scored on a 60-yard run and followed up with a 40-yard interception return that broke open the game.
"We moved the ball really well in the first half, but we just kept making mistakes," Hockinson coach Rick Steele said. "The kids responded well in the second half."
Thomas Kirschenbaum rushed for 138 yards on 17 carries and quarterback Jess Krahn threw for 147 yards and three touchdowns for the Hawks.
