ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — The Washington Redskins have filled the final spot on their roster by signing cornerback Crezdon Butler.

Coach Mike Shanahan said Saturday that Butler will be the fifth cornerback on the team’s 53-man roster.

The Redskins cut their roster to 52 on Friday, leaving room to add one player. They went after Butler, who was released Friday by the Arizona Cardinals.

Butler was a fifth-round draft from Clemson by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2010. He joined the Cardinals last year but hurt his ankle in the opening game and didn’t play the rest of the season.
