Congregation Kol Ami, Clark County’s reform Jewish Congregation, is getting ready to open doors on its new home. The public is welcome to join the dedication festivities.

The event is set for 5:30 p.m. Thursday. The property is located at 7800 N.E. 119th St., beside Glenwood Community Church.

The project marks the first new synagogue construction in the Portland-Vancouver area in 40 years, and the first-ever synagogue in Southwest Washington. It officially opens just two weeks before the High Holy Days (Jewish New Year).

The building features a 200-seat sanctuary, a 400-seat social hall, six classrooms, administrative offices and a landscaped courtyard. An organic garden is planned to help stock local food banks.

Total cost of the project was $9 million. To learn more, visit jewishvancouverusa.com.
