PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown insists the team’s receiving corps is so deep and talented there’s no real need to establish a hierarchy.

Maybe, but Brown provided a pretty compelling argument over the second half of the 2011 season through this summer’s training camp that he’s become quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s favorite target.

Brown posted better numbers during Pittsburgh’s final eight games than Pro Bowl teammate Mike Wallace. And while Wallace spent the spring and summer at home while hoping to negotiate a better contract, Brown signed an incentive-laden deal of his own, took over Hines Ward’s old locker and deepened his relationship with Roethlisberger.

Entering his third season, Brown says there’s plenty of room for improvement. He hopes to show how far he’s come when Pittsburgh opens the season in Denver on Sunday night.
